Chrysalis House provides crisis, shelter, outreach and transitional support to women and their children who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing violence and abuse. Services are available for women who have been psychologically, emotionally, financially, physically, and/or sexually abused. Founded over 40 years ago, Horizon Services, Inc. operates three detox programs and three residential facilities in Alameda, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties, in northern California. We allow mothers to keep their newborns and toddlers on-site with them while in residential treatment. Admission of pregnant women is prioritized to ameliorate the effects of alcohol or drugs on the unborn child. Almost 50% of women entering Chrysalis House are pregnant and deliver babies while in the program.
